Warmest Wishes With Kay

Hi there Kay here and I have a fun little snow scene to share with you today that I created with some adorable stamp sets from Neat & Tangled.  I absolutely love all of Elena Roussakis's designs, and what is fun is that you can mix and match elements from all of the different sets!

So for my card today I used Lumberjack LoveGet YetiFa La Llama and Merry Kisses. I created my background with Distress Oxide inks blended on Bristol Board and sprinkled with water. When this was dry, I glued it down to a horizontally folded white card base.

I created some snowy hills layering one higher up in the background and popping up the front one with foam tape. I then colored all of the cute images with Copic markers and added them to my scene. Some of the trees and mountains were tucked right under the edges of the snow and the little characters in front were popped up with foam tape.

The sentiment is from the Merry Kisses stamp set. I stamped that with Versa Mark ink, and embossed it with white embossing powder.

Confetti cards with Daria

Hello dear friends!

Daria here today. And it is such a pleasure to host Neat&Tangled blog again after a break (maternity leave:).

I want to share two very similar cards with you today using Falling Circles cover plate from the latest release and Hooray Word die.

The moment I saw this cover plate, I thought about confetti. It  talks to me: "In-laid...". So I couldn't resist (lol).

This is very simple, but I believe eye-catching design. In-laid technique gives it texture and dimension, and a realistic confetti look.

Hooray Word die was a perfect match to finish it up.

I hope you like this idea and will give a try. Be sure to tag us in social media, so we can see your projects.

Thanks sooooo much for stopping by,

xoxo

Special Delivery with Daria!

Hello friends!

Daria created the most adorable shaker card using our new Truck die and Jewel Tones sequin mix! I also love how she used the Falling Circles Cover Plate die, and used the circles as little confetti!

While the Truck die is great for creating those 3D trucks, it's also great for creating flat cards as well by cutting and trimming out just one side of the truck!

Think of all the cute things you could put in that shaker besides sequins - I'm thinking stamped and die cut treats, gift boxes or cute critters!

Thanks for taking a look!

Introducing October Guest Designer - Yoonsun Hur

Happy Friday!  We are so excited to be welcoming Yoonsun Hur as our guest designer this month.  Yoonsun is an old N&T friend and we are always thrilled when she can be with us.  Here's a bit about Yoonsun:

Hello Everyone! I'm Yoonsun Hur a South Korean-born Australian and I currently live in Sydney with my gorgeous husband. I love being creative!! I really love making cards with various and awesome stuff. I have been working as a Graphic designer since 2000 and this career has helped me in many ways when designing cards. I endlessly want to make various attempts and share my creativity with you.

Today I want to share with you my fun Christmas card with so adorable Beary Merry Stamp Set and the Merry and Bright Nice and Neat Die.

I started by stamping cute polar bear and candy cane from the Beary Merry set on watercolor paper using black pigment ink. I then watercolored and fussy cut them. You can use the matching dies to cut stamped images. It is so much easier than use scissors. ;)

For the snowy night background, I ink blended on watercolor paper panel with Mermaid Lagoon, Faded Jean, Seedless Preserves, Black Soot Distress inks and mini blending tool, and then added white ink splatters all around the panel. For the sentiment, I die cut the word “Merry & Bright” from white card stock fine times, and then stacked them up using glue pen.

Once the panel was completely dry, I mounted it on white card base using double-sided tape first, and then added the sentiment die cut and the polar bear holding a candy cane on the card front using foam tape.

I had a great time with this adorable stamps & dies!

That’s it for today. Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful weekend!!

Hello You, Inspired by Sveta

Hi all!  It's Miriam, and today I'm sharing a fall card featuring my Calathea set.

It's actually my take on this card from Sveta.  Sveta used the Calathea set to create a light, bright, tropical look, but I'm in the mood for fall, so I went with fall colors and used more of the fuller leaves.

I used Altenew inks and a mix of first generation, second generation, and rock and roll stamping.  To add a little more drama/focus on the center I also did some light inking on the edges of my panel with Antique Linen Distress Ink.

The sentiment is from the Hello You mini and was stamped with the help of my MISTI.  I didn't use the MISTI for the leaves because for this look some irregularity is not a big deal, plus it's faster.

That's all for me today, thanks for stopping by!

winter is coming! (with Elena)

Hi there!

I'm exploring the yeti's softer side today, with this pink and grey and blue card:

winter watermarked

Yeti or not.... winter! (fingers crossed we don't get any of that white stuff for another month at least, but I don't mind it on a card!)

I stamped the yeti and a few of his friends from Get Yeti, and colored them in soft blues and greys with rosy cheeks to fit the theme.

winter watermarked

Instead of putting a critter on the sled, I added the present from Wild Ones.

To make the yeti look like he's holding the sign, I stamped a second yeti and cut out just the arm. The sign hides the unsightly seams and it looks cute to have it tucked in there!

The scripty die-cut is from the Hello Winter die set. I love how big it is! I made it kind of follow the curve of the snowbank.

I hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by!

♥.

Using the Truck Box Die | VIDEO | Natalie Elphinstone

Oh my sweets! The new Truck Die from the latest release is so adorable! And did you see what the Creative Team girls did with it at reveal? I'm instantly thinking of Christmas table decorations and gift boxes for birthday parties, but there are so many possibilities!

I've managed to have a bit of a play with it myself.
Of course, once the kids saw that the purpose might be to fill it with lollies they all demanded to have one for themselves too! Even my photoshoot wasn't safe from quick fingers who snuck in to scoop up the prize ;-)

I made some fairly 'basic' models here just to get a feel for all the bits and pieces that came with the Truck Die, and I adore how easy it is to customise the finished look in about a thousand different ways. The front, the back and the sides can all be decorated however you would like. And of course, the Sweet Treats Sentiment Stamp set is just perfect for adding little messages onto your Truck.

And after you've consumed all the treats, the Trucks make a fun toy to play with too!

In my video today I wanted to show you all the details about how to build your Truck. I'll show you what pieces you get in the die set, how to cut it out (even if you don't have extended cutting plates!!), how to customise it, and of course how to assemble it. There are a few helpful hints and tricks along the way too!
